Velocity comics is awesome.

So I just found out that I got a love receipt at Velocity good for $20 of comics! It was a prize for completing my 24hr comic this month at Gallery5. Hand drawn even!

If you’re in the Richmond are you should definitely stop in, they are the Bee’s Knees. If not you can find them on the facebook and say nice things.

My first 24hr comic!

Part of the exhibition this past weekend was a 24 hour comic on Saturday. This was my first attempt and I am both pleased and surprised to say that it was successful! 24 pages written drawn and inked starting at 9am and completed around 1.30 am.

I highly recommend anyone interested in making comics give it a go, it wasn’t as difficult as I feared. I find myself often staring at a blank page afraid of the effort required and this helped to smash some of those fears for me. If I can do this, I can do a page any day (or early morning).
